We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to support with layout, fabrication and assembly of components for projects from rapid prototype/proof of concept, to finished deliverable projects. The selected candidate will have experience with machining, welding, light electrical, and automotive work; set building and truss assembly a plus.
Layout and assembly of components
Support the lighting design group with layout and connection of temporary and permanent lighting fixtures for projects
Integration of electrical equipment into projects including but not limited to vehicles, demos, etc.
Light mechanical fabrication
All other duties as assigned
Practical working knowledge and experience of machine shop operations and a wide variety of tools and equipment
Ability to operate test equipment
Machining and welding experience
Ability to rapidly prototype
Knowledge of design concepts and ability to interpret them
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Knowledge of basic electrical schematics
Experience in entertainment, film, theatrical, special effects companies a plus
Experience with basic hand and power tools including mills, saws, cutters and general shop equipment is required
