Systems Administrator

Overview

The Systems Administrator is an integral part of our small IT team supporting cutting-edge software/hardware systems and service platforms. This individual will implement and maintain enterprise class IT solutions, engage with daily IT support and operations, and provide input on the choice of technology resources required to support business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the efficiency, stability, security and accessibility of systems and applications.
  • Be the escalation point for all service support issues.
  • Work with internal and external customers to ensure information security is implemented at all levels and is fully compliant with requirements.
  • Work closely with the IT Manager and VP, Operations on expansion of IT services and continuous improvement of infrastructure and effectiveness of systems
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years IT experience with 3-5 years in a senior technical role
  • Advanced knowledge of protocols (DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP)
  • Experience with SIEM (LogRhythm, Splunk, Alienvault)
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange (2010, Office 365) Administration and Configuration
  • Expert Active Directory and Windows Server (2008,2012,2016) Administration and Configuration
  • Advanced Linux Administration (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora)
  • Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, Mongo
  • Experience with Virtual and Cloud based Infrastructure (Azure, AWS, DigitalOcean, etc)
  • Experience managing office networks in a diverse desktop client environment (Mac/Windows/Linux) and additionally capable of assisting with support in multiple sites remotely
  • Experience with emerging technologies (Docker, Node, Mongo)
  • Hands on engineer with a passion and do what it takes approach to getting the job done
  • Flexibility for occasional travel and ability to relocate computer equipment (Servers, PCs, printers, etc.)
  • Proven ability in producing and documenting configurations and policies
  • Collaborative team player
