Producer/Production Manager

Overview

We are seeking a Producer/Production Manager who will play a highly integrated and pivotal role in our organization, ensuring that our complex build projects are delivered to our customers with the highest quality, on time, and on budget. You will work collaboratively with our teams of engineers and designers to build schedules and timelines, and oversee that they are being met and adjusted as needed.  In addition, you will source and engage with outside vendors, and manage the relationships and deliverables of those organizations, making sure that their work is integrated seamlessly into our internal activities and processes. Reporting to the Chief Creative Officer, this is a dynamic and multi-faceted role, directly managing the production team, shop facility, and overseeing the overall deliverable path of our work.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the Shop Production team
  • Manage selected projects, with an emphasis on prototype execution
  • Create a safe working environment, including ensuring OSHA compliance with all shop activities
  • Manages overall shop operations, i.e. order supplies, stock inventory
  • Ensure proper use of tools and equipment used within Production department
  • Partners with Engineering, Operations, and Creative staff on project plans, status etc.
  • Has a strong sense of ownership, with drive and determination to see projects through completion in a highly collaborative manner
  • Hands-on attitude, with overlapping experience in these sorts of fabrication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 8-10 years of experience managing teams in a production environment, and project management
  • Experience managing CNC Machine Shop, sheet metal, and welding
  • Experience working in a project management capacity. proven ability to execute projects and nurture them successfully from ideation to deliverable
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to problem solve, and rapidly adapt and adjust plans
  • Experience executing time-critical projects for both the entertainment and aerospace industries desirable
  • Strong influence skills; experience working successfully in a highly matrixed organization
  • Stellar interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the organization
  • Ideally familiar with both industrial and US government projects and processes, and able to obtain a security clearance
